  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to open IE11 on windows server 2012 R2 as a different user but it doesn't get open opened up. It throws below error. Same with command prompt. How can we fix it? Can some one help? Are there any settings that can be changed.

  • Hi,

I would guess that you need to place the administrators smart card first in the card reader before you can switch user accounts on your company servers. Are you using remote desktop or are you physically in the ops room accessing the server? There should be a card reader already connected or your supervisors will show you how to access the server directly (in the ops room).

Log on with the Admin account, then try to switch the account. Your company may use a secure Admin account (top secret username, password) which you have to obtain from your system administrators or say your Company Treasurer (in banking intranets).

I've worked for banks.. security is strict. Admin passwords are kept in safes and changed frequently.

    Regards.
