CVE-2017-8529 kb4022724 Registry key RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Our security team ran a scan on our servers and some don't seem to be protected against CVE-2017-8529. We have installed this update on all systems in the past and it has been superseeded a lot of times by other updates (which are also installed).

So futher investigation lead me to the missing registry key on the machines to enable this fix. (https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-US/security-guidance/advisory/CVE-2017-8529)

Now my question is: how can we know if there is a manual action for a particular update? One expects that when installing all released updates, all the vulnerabilities are addressed. But that is not the case, so should we read the articles related to every update?

    Thanks,

    WiM
