Office Web App installtion on SharePoint 2013 box

  No, OWA must be installed on its own server now.  See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219435.aspx.

  Servers that run Office Web Apps Server must not run any other server application. This includes Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, Lync Server, and SQL Server. If you have hardware constraints, you can run Office Web Apps Server in a virtual machine instance on one of these servers.

  I try diverent ways... but its not possible to get it running on one box.

  So for testing u need at least 3 server

  • AD, DNS, SQL (should also be separated)
  • SharePoint 2013 and Workflow Mangager + Service Bus (Azure Workflows)
  • OWA

  This is a solid testing environment

  I managed to run ad/dns/sql/sp/workflow on one maschine, but no way with OWA :(

  Thanks Trevor & Regesoft

  I feel they should have given the option to install OWA on the same sharepoint box, if we do not want all the advantages what MS has mentioned about having this component(OWA) in a separate box.
