Bing Search Webpart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I would like to put a Bing Search on a page in my site.  Is this possible?  I tried several web parts (Search, connecting it to Outlook webpart).  Any help is appreciated by this newbie!

  • Thank you very much for providing such great  reproduction steps.

After performing these steps, I received the same error.

After testing various permissions, I have found the specific permissions "Allow Mixed Content" fixed this.
You will need to apply this on the Internet section of the Security tab in Internet Options.

The reason for this is that http://www.bing.com is a non-SSL connection, whereas your SharePoint site is SSL-enabled.

  • As long as a SharePoint modification does not require installing anything on the server or use of server-side tools, such as stsadm, you can configure it any way you want.

  • Daniel,

I am on my SharePoint site via BPOS so my SP is online.  When I use a Page View Web Part, setting url as http://bing.com I get the following error message:

Navigation to this Webpage was canceled.  What you can try : Retype Address

I have tried retyping the address in many different ways....same message.

Weird thing - when I am in SPD it works! After applying and saving changes and back in SP the error messages reappear.

I know I can link to the "outside world" via RSS View reader - those are working great (but not with bing).

Any suggestions on how to configure?
