S/MIME for outlook and browser


  • Hi, one of our users received an email which is digitally signed but every time we open it, it just shows

    "sorry we're having trouble opening this item. this could be temporary. but if you see it again you might want to restart Outlook. Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system."

    Since we're using office 365, I asked the user to login to directly and open the email using browser but it shows unsupported browser S/MIME etc etc something like that. 

    I did some research saying about going to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Email Security and under Encrypted email went to Settings but it's all blank in all drop downs
