Unable to Delete Resources from MIM Portal RRS feed

  • Hello there,

I am trying to delete some resources in our Development MIM portal (logged in with Administrator account that setup the Portal) and when I delete the resource, it acts like it's going to do it, then gives an error stating it was unwilling to complete the request.  I have included the error details below.

  • You cannot delete a resource before removing all binded attributes first.

Go to "All Bindings" and delete all attributes bound to this resource.

if you had created any objects of that resource, you need them deleted first.

  • If I am not mistaken, in order to delete an attribute you have to make sure no objects are using that attribute including synchronization rules and MA configuration.

  • Lets assume the resource is user.

    1. Delete all users

    2. Delete all bindings to user. There are lots of attributes bound by default, so make sure you delete them all

    3. Delete user resource

  • No we dont need to delete the attributes, just bindings to that resource

  • Anyway you will need to remove objects which have this attribute non empty (at least).

  • DO an advance search based on the particular attribute under specific object type (Person, Group, and …), which might give you a clue if any object associated with the questioning attribute or not.

Then you can clear those values.
