Windows Server Essentialsコネクターがアンインストールできない (Windows Server 2016 Essentials & Windows10 1903) RRS feed

    Windows Server 2016 Essentialsを使用して、Windows 10 Proのマシンをクライアントバックアップしていました。
    Windows 10の1803までは正常に動作していたのですが、1803の期限切れが近づいてきたため
    クライアントを1903に更新したところ、クライアントバックアップが正常に動作しなくなってしまいました。

    症状としては、

    ・クライアントバックアップに必要ないくつかのサービスが起動していない
    ・何度かWindows Server Essentialsコネクターの再インストールを試みたが、ほぼ最後の「コンピューターを構成しています...」の画面で、ダイアログが落ちてちゃんとインストールできない
    ・既存のコネクターをアンインストールしようかと思ったが、「アプリ」画面、「プログラムと機能」画面、（「プログラムと機能」画面から呼び出す）「更新プログラムのアンインストール」画面のいずれにも現れない。

    という状況です（いずれもクライアントマシンWin10Pro側の事象）

    以下のサイトを参考にして、タスクスケジューラから「Windows Server Essentials」関連の設定を削除してから再インストールを試してみたりしましたが、現象は解決していません。
    （そもそもアンインストールができない時点で、ここに書いてあることを実行できないのですが）

    どなたか同じような状況に陥った場合の対処方法をご存じな方はいらっしゃらないでしょうか？
    もしくは強制的にアンインストールする方法はないでしょうか？

    とりあえず「C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin」をリネームすることは試してみたのですが、それをやるとWindows Server Essentialsコネクターのインストーラが正常起動しなくなってしまいます（何故？）

    サービスが正しくインストールされておらず、起動できないためにエラーになっているようです。確かに、コネクターがアンインストールできていないのが原因かもしれません。

    Powershellを管理者権限で起動し、

     msiexec /x "{563CB0AF-E0B5-42B1-AB42-8E6964349900}"

    を入力して、エンターを押下してみていただけますでしょうか？
    「この製品をアンインストールしますか？」と表示されたら、はいを選択してアンインストールし、アンインストールができたら再度インストールしてみてください。

     お世話になります。

    ログをみてみないと何とも言えませんが、インストールプロセスの最後のところで落ちているのは、ドメインへの参加プロセスのところではないかと想像します。
    以下の２つのいずれかをお試しいただいて結果を教えていただけますか？

    1. クライアントPCのTCP/IPのプロパティ(v4/v6の両方)に、EssentialsサーバーのIPアドレスを指定してから、コネクターのインストールを試す
    2. ドメインへの参加をスキップするようレジストリを構成して、インストールを試してみる

    返信が遅れ申し訳ありません。
    まだ問題は解決しておりません。

    また申し遅れておりましたが、当該PCは元々ドメインには参加しない方針で運用しており、Masahiko Sadaさまが案内していただいているサイトを参考にして、Windows10の大型アップデートのたびに該当レジストリを変更しており、今回も同じキーを「1」に指定してあります。

    インストーラの最終画面を取得しましたが、添付できないみたいです。試しにプロフィール画面をそれにしてみました。

    ログはどのように取るのかよくわかっていませんが、それらしきものを見つけたので添付します。

    クライアントPC上で必要なサービスが見つからないのが原因？なのでしょうか？
    とはいえ、これらを正常動作させるのに一度コネクターをアンインストールする必要がある気がするのですが・・・。

    サービスが正しくインストールされておらず、起動できないためにエラーになっているようです。確かに、コネクターがアンインストールできていないのが原因かもしれません。

    Powershellを管理者権限で起動し、

     msiexec /x "{563CB0AF-E0B5-42B1-AB42-8E6964349900}"

    を入力して、エンターを押下してみていただけますでしょうか？
    「この製品をアンインストールしますか？」と表示されたら、はいを選択してアンインストールし、アンインストールができたら再度インストールしてみてください。

    ありがとうございます！
    無事にアンインストールできました。

    再インストールでまた少し手間取ったのですが（名前解決の問題かと思ってあれやこれや試していました）、
    単にアンインストール時にレジストリキー「SkipDomainJoin」が消えていただけでした。

    いろいろとありがとうございました。
    OS再インストールを覚悟していたので、大変助かりました。
