ILM V2: Attribute Synchronization Rule RRS feed

  • 質問

  • I am trying to create a Synchronization Rule in ILM V2 using the codeless option.
However in the Synchronization rules, I don't see any advanced option other than to Concatenate attributes.

With MIIS 2003, I was able to define an Advanced Extension rule and define my code in VB.NET.
Is this still the only option to define advanced attribute flows in ILM V2?

Hmmm - if you have seen the option to concatenate strings, you must have seen all the other functions that are available – no?

The list of functions contains all functions you need to perform basic data operations.

As you have mentioned, if this is not good enough, there is still the good old way of implementing rules extensions :-)

    Cheers,

    Markus

  • Hello Markus,

    Thank you for the response.

In the Flow Definition window of Inbound Attribute Flow, I see the options:

    Constant value: Number and String:
    Advanced: Custom Expression and Function.

Do I use these options to define advanced attribute flows with ILM V2?

Also do I define the Direct Attribute Flows directly in the Identity Manager application using "Configure Attribute Flow" section when creating the Management Agent? (OR) do I also define the Direct Attribute Flows using the Synchronization Rules option of ILM V2 (http://localhost/identitymanagement --> Synchronization Rules)?

  • You can implement some of your advanced flow rule extensions using the Function and Custom Expression options in that drop-down. The functions avaiable can perform some string formatting operations and boolean logic operations. Custom Expressions are handwritten and are comprised of some combination of the functions available under the Function option. You can also just use the coded extensions that you have written already.

As far as where the rules need to be configured, this article can give you some more information about that:
The short answer is that either the ILM 2 Portal or Identity Mananger or both can be used.

  • We have released two walkthroughs covering codeless provisioning.

    You can find them here.

It is possible to mix – depending on your needs - codeless provisioning and the “old way” of configuring synchronization rules.

You only need the Identity Manager if you need to configure something the old way.

    Cheers,

    Markus
