Smart Card redirect with WS2012R2/WS2016 RDSH

    質問

  • Hi
I'm trying to redirect Smart Card to RDSH session on WS2012R2 and WS2016. I could redirect my smart card reader(ACR 1251) and a smart card device to Windows 10 client through RDP10. On the other hand I could redirect only the smart card reader, but the smart card was NOT shown in the device manager of the session.

I already configure group policy to enable smart card device redirection on WS2012R2/WS2016.

  • You insert the Smart Card on windows server and trying to redirect it, right?

If you use the Smart Card reader that is attached locally to the server on the RDP session and not interested to use the Smart Card redirection feature, it will not work as the details on how smart card works as per :

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/instan/archive/2011/03/27/why-can-t-i-see-my-local-smartcard-readers-when-i-connect-via-rdp.aspx

Smart Card redirection is enabled by default on Windows 2008 Server, and can be controlled via Group Policy, or by configuring the Remote Desktop client.

The Smart Card reader driver does not load on the server, so as long as the drivers are installed and functioning on the client computer, the card should be available for use on the server.
