WSUS shows wrong Windows 10 Version after Update KB4338819

    질문

  • Hello,

after the update KB4338819 to the Windows 10 Clients WinVer Shows version 1803 (Build 17134.165).
On the command promt (cmd.exe) the Version is: [Version 10.0.17134.165].

But on the WSUS Server the clients show  10.0.17134.137.

Is this only on my Wsus Server so (Windows Server 2012 R2)?

    Thanks
    Bruno

  • Hello B-Hirsnk,

    Glad to solve your confusion.

I have the same isuue with you, and it does not need to worry.

In the WSUS console, the build number is wua's version of client, not OS version. The WUA version is not always consistent with OS version.

You could check the WUA version of client by following steps:

    1. Open the %systemroot%\system32 folder. %systemroot% is the folder in which Windows is installed. For example, the %systemroot% folder is C:\Windows.
    2. Right-click Wuaueng.dll, and then select Properties.
    3. Select the Details tab, and then locate the file version number.

    Hope my answer helps.

    Best Regards,

In WSUS.MSC you can see only the Windows Update Agent Build, not the
    Windows Client Build.

Is the same answer like in the german forum.
