  • Hello,

I support a Virtual environment set up for other teams to request serves for their testing purposes.  We have set up SUS 3.0 and configured the reg on the servers to point to the sus server. It is all working great, however, is there a way to set it up to install the updates, but do not reboot unless the users initiates a reboot?  All the users are local admins on the servers we roll out to them. I checked the NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUser reg option, but that seems to just work if the user is logged in. I would like to know if we can set the install, but not reboot at all (even if they are logged off) unless the user initiates it.

    Thanks.

Well, if the *user* initiates the installation, then this is the default behavior. However, if a user is not logged in and an installation is initiated from a scheduled event, then the restart will happen when the installation is completed, and that cannot be configured or controlled.

No, nor do you actually want to do that. You should install the update WHEN you can restart the server, and not until.
