skype for business online presence "Maximum Followers Reached" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

User A does have around 180 contacts, user A migrated to skype for business online when user A use a second device  user A is not able to most of her contact presence and  get maximum followers reached. when user A sign out from first device, user A is able to see presence again in device two for all users B(contacts).

users B (contacts) are not too popular any user still can subscribe to see their presence and they didn't reach their followers limit(200).

Microsoft provide details about  limit for user reaching the limit of users subscribing for their details  "Maximum Followers Reached" but doesn't mention a limit for user to get status update for contacts

  • Actually this by design

Users each have a total of 200 concurrent presence subscriptions. Once that limit is reached, users can still send and receive instant messages and add users to a Contacts list, but they cannot see any additional presence information and will see a “Maximum Followers Reached” message when attempting to view a user's presence.

  • Hi GUI,

    Welcome to our forum.

We could not find any documents to about this limit. We suggest you use different second device to test if the issue persist.

Secondly, we could update Skype for business to the last. We want to confirm whether you try to use secondly device firstly, then connect to Lync online using first device.

Finally, we suggest you update SQL database by the following command:

    Install-CsDatabase –Update –ConfiguredDatabases –SqlServerFqdn <SQL FQDN> –ExcludeCollocatedStores

If there are any questions or issues, please be free to let me know and we will pleasure to help you. If the above suggestion are helpful to you, please make it as answer so that someone who has similar issue could find this thread as soon as possible.

  • Take a look at changing the MaxCategorySubscription value (Skype4b / Lync) Presence policy using KB2795173 as a reference.

Please share with us if this helps. Thanks.
