  • Hi,

    Thanks for visiting our forum.

Do you mean regular Skype application?

Our forum forces on Skype for Business server and client, also known as Lync. It is a different product from regular Skype.

According your requirement, what I can find is the following article about “some features not available in skype”:

    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12091/why-are-some-features-not-available-in-skype-anymore

I think it is better to go to Skype developer https://dev.skype.com/.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,
    Shaw Lu

  • "Why are some..." What a pity (I using Skype for Business too), but you mention Lync.

Site https://dev.skype.com/ is only about BOT, Payment and Web attach story. Unsuccessful for my this time.

Anyway, does Lync have the ability to send SMS from users account? Would you show me a API for it?

  • Hi,

I’m not familiar with coding, and in my research, the feature seems not be added in Lync/Skype for Business for now, refer to this feedback:

    https://www.skypefeedback.com/forums/299913-generally-available/suggestions/9080452-send-sms-from-skype-for-business-to-mobile

However, I found a third-party solution (Chatabox) that could be used to send SMS for O365. Here is a reference thread:

  • Show Lu, you writing about 3th part software, complete and done.

I want to write it by may self, using MS API or DLL file. Always I can us external ISDN gate and build that only for my self without that using my number, but I was thinking about office add-in for anybody without extra subscription payment to someone using skype number. On the internet you can find lots of offers SMS gateway - but 1st: I do not have trust to eavesdropping, second one: that is a subscriptions offers.

Skype is a solution, everybody have it with Office install, so if i can find "send sms" possibility im inventory, then I was thinking: that would by the right way to use that in software i build.

    I was wrong I guess. :)

  • Hi,

I understand that you want to create your own application, however, our forum doesn’t force on coding and development, and according the above feedback, it looks like that it doesn’t support the SMS feature for now.

In another way, you may go to this developer forum for Skype for Business.
