Lync 2010 Mobile Push Not Working RRS feed

  • Question

  • -- Have also posted this on Experts Exchange ---

Managed to figure everything else out but this ....

    ---

Here is the topology I currently have...

Lync Server 01 : SE Front End
    Lync Server 02: Edge
Lync Server 03: Monitoring & Archiving
    Microsoft TMG 2010

Pool Names are usually ServerName.<internal domain> for Internal and <service>.<external domain> for External.

My Certificate has the following domains on it (used for Lync and Exchange):
    sip
    autodiscover
    av (audio / video)
    dialin
    lync
    lyncdiscover
    mail
    meet
    wc (web conferencing)
    www
    last one is for OWA

I have Integrated Lync with OWA (Exchange 2010), Blackberry Enterprise Server, and partially with mobile devices. All other services within Lync (internal , external access, online meetings, etc ) work.

When the mobile device (Android, iPhone, or Windows 8) have the Lync 2010 application running the user can see presence and send IM's, once they leave the Lync 2010 application they do not get any notifications of IM's to the device. From what I read notifications are pushed to the phone through Microsoft's Lync Service via a Federation.

This is one of the sites that I used trying to get this to work is: https://www.bibble-it.com/2011/12/10/configuring-lync-mobility-part-1

Starting to use the RUCT tool: http://www.insideocs.com/Tools/RUCT/RUCT.htm

Used the following for External Connectivity: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/and https://www.testocsconnectivity.com/ .. both give green check marks on appropriate tests.

CLI On the Lync Server 01 (SE FE):

    PS C:\Users\Administrator.SCMH> Test-CsFederatedPartner <lync server 02>.<internal domain> -Domain push.lync.com -ProxyFqdn sipfed.online.lync.com

I have read multiple blogs and websites on this and nothing so far has worked. Any assistance as to why this is not working would be appreciated.

  • Hi,MJDevos,

What's you default sip domain? You'd better set the external domain as your default primary sip domain.

What's your federation SRV record _sipfederationtls._tcp.domain.com(with port 5061)?

Would you please verify that you didn't enable IM filter and URL filter on your Lync server or OWA?Also please make sure there is no inbound or outbound traffic through 5061 blocked on Edge or firewall.

I am not sure if you have read these blog posts but still post them for referece.

Still looking but could not find Powershell command to show the configuration of Exchange for IM and / or URL filtering.

Firewall allows the following ports tcp/udp 50000-59999, tcp/5061, tcp/5223, tcp/443, and udp/3478 for sip, wc, and av -- tcp/80 and tcp/443 for reverse proxy

I have also put exceptions on the local firewalls of the servers for ports 5061 on the Edge and Front End, still the same result.

Thanks for the links, looking into them.

  • Used the Logging Tool for Lync (pasting part of the log)

It looks as if the FE is communicating with the Edge, then the Edge to the External Source, then the Edge fails to communicate back with the FE?
