folder size LyncShare\1-WebServices-4\StorageService\DataExport is growing big RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi:

I just found out our lync share folder is growing really big now and it all comes to storageservice subfolder underneath.

I found this article with the same issue, https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/lync/en-US/25325262-14a8-4395-aea8-5363ab06f0c2/lync-2013-dataexport-folder-growing

however the answer below didn't really explain whether we can delete files or a way to overwrite them.

Can someone please help ? :)

  • Most of the growing are data for conferences. Please check your settings for conferences. How long data will be hold.

Maybe you have to change the settings for conferences?

  • Hi RogerChen84,

Please run “Get-CsBackupServiceStatus” command to check if the service is running properly.

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/jenstr/archive/2012/11/06/what-does-the-status-reported-by-get-csbackupservicestatus-mean.aspx

Also please check the event log on FE servers.

In addition, if you want to delete these orphaned data, please run the CleanuUpStorageServiceData.exe tool in the Lync Server 2013 Resource Kit, which will delete all orphaned data from the pool.

  • Hi Eric:

    Thanks for your answer:

we only have one pool so no backup services running.

I tried to run CleanuUpStorageServiceData.exe, but it came up with

Error: found unexpected number of front ends for routing group: 1
Unexpected error encountered.  Details: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Spec
ified argument was out of the range of valid values.

  • Hi RogerChen84,

Try to disable the Anti-Virus on Lync Servers, and then monitor whether there's new logs occupying disk space.

    Best regards,

    Eric
