IE9 has compatibility view which allows websites designed for IE8 to run equally well in IE9.... there is no reason to have both IE8 and IE9 on Windows 7 or Vista. Probably you will have to upgrade some of your IE Addons or uninstall them because they will
not be compatibile with the more secure Win7/IE9.
If you are a developer and want to test your web applications in XP IE8 (slightly different to IE8/Win7/Vista) download and install the MS Virtual Machines and XP/SP3/IE8 Virtual images.
For consumer help with IE select the Help>Online Support menu from IE and follow the prompts for your windows and IE versions.
