  • Question

  • Be careful! This sender failed our fraud detection checks message appears in a number of emails. How could someone determine what the issue is?

Fields of data (X-AUTH and X-SID) from the message source display fail as its value.

Why is the message failing? Only because data fields are blocked? Or is something being redirected or exploited?

Another message failed because the sender and recipient address were the same.

Is that because the sender and recipient address is a distribution list named after the sender? Or is something trying to access the computer?

Messages that failed fraud checks are delivered to the inbox. Email address is MSN.

  • Emails marked fraud are deleted. Searching error messages and contacting senders helps resolve issues.

  • This is a forum about Windows Phone. What exactly are you talking about and what service are you using?

  • If you receive an email displaying "Be careful! This sender failed our fraud detection checks", what does that mean? The website says to report fraud. However, the outlook.com forum in Answers is not responding.
