how to set msRTCSIP-GroupingID attribute?

    Question

  • I have not been able to find a way to set this attribute programatically.  For now we've been forced to do it via ADModify or by hand with adsiedit - this isn't really workable.

    Does anyone know how to do this with powershell or some other automated method?

  • bump - anyone know?

    also, this doesn't seem to work perfectly.  some users get the restricted list, and others still seem to get the full list...

  • bump again - still can't find any examples anywhere of how to set this via powershell...  all the blogs show adsiedit or admodify, and technet doesn't provide an example either...

  • Might be too late. You may try the following in PS

    $guid = [System.Guid]"438FA42C-5A40-422F-9222-8F2BE11C9F2A"
    Set-ADUser abcde -Add @{"msRTCSIP-GroupingID"=$guid}

  • Hi!

    Just seen your thread (although its late)

    But this is how you can Set-msRTCSIP-GroupingID

    DirectoryEntry de = new DirectoryEntry(szPath)

    DirectoryEntry de = new DirectoryEntry(objectDN);

    Guid guid = GetObjectGuid(ObjectDN); if (de.Properties[szPropertyName].Value != null) { de.Properties[szPropertyName].Value = guid.ToByteArray(); } else { de.Properties[szPropertyName].Add(guid.ToByteArray()); }

  • But is this supported by Microsoft? Will they support my Lync integration if we use this segregation?

  • Holas!!!

    acá te dejo la información que necesitas para la segregación de GAL en LyncServer.

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28587

    como la información es directamente de Microsoft, debiese tener soporte cuando llames solictandolo.

    saludos.

  • you can make user template and in template user modify msRTCSIP-GroupingID , using adsiedit make this attruibute copied, so when you use template user for new user , your new user will have automaticaly mofdified msRTCSIP-GroupingID. im using this method and everything is ok!
