Skype CCE PSTN sites destination routing RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

A customer is exploring the scenario of having multiple CCE PSTN sites in several countries, and to allow outbound call to PSTN to use the local PSTN site.  This would save on IDD charges.  However, i couldn't find any info on setting up PSTN site and destination routing.

    Cheers.

  • Hi chuaky,

Welcome to post in our forum.

Based on my understanding, CCE is designed to be deployed at a single site with a local PSTN connection.

Microsoft do not support CCE SIP trunks to PBXs not at the same site.

You can deploy the following Cloud Connector topologies:

1.A single instance of Cloud Connector Edition per PSTN site. This topology is recommended for evaluation purposes only because it does not provide high availability.

2.Multiple instances of Cloud Connector Edition (up to 4) per PSTN site to provide high availability.

3.Multiple PSTN sites with multiple instances of Cloud Connector Edition to provide scalability with high availability. You can deploy up to 200 sites.

  • What some customers have done to handle a centralized CCE deployment with local PSTN breakouts in regional offices, is to leverage SBC's to handle the call routing to/from local PSTN gateways. Today this require good WAN connections between offices and central CCE datacenter deployment as the media will traverse the WAN. Microsoft is working on improvements to this type of deployment.
