ocs user is moved but still he is unable to access his communicator RRS feed

  • We have a issue which is effecting many site users, Hope you can help use in putting us out of this problem.

     

    THE ISSUE IS : In our environment we use for  user moves the following process:

    Source Site: User is renamed to _old
    Target Site: Same User ID is created

    The _old account will be kept at least for 60 days in Active Directory.

    This process causes problems as in OCS servermanage we always gets the following error when we try to enable the account for OCS. It seems the msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress is not cleared for the old server, also when the _old is disabled for OCS in Active directory and does not contain any entry for SIP anymore.

  • First delete users from OCS ( by running OCS wizard) and try to enable OCS for new accounts.

  • Yes that might be one way of doing it, and if the users want to keep the contact list after the move, you might be able to export the contacts and then import them to the new account with the following command:
    • To export the contact list for all users in an Enterprise Pool:  dbimpexp.exe /hrxmlfile:contacts.xml /sqlserver:<Pool SQL Hostname>
    • To import a contact list for a specific user homed on a Standard Edition server:  dbimpexp.exe /hrxmlfile:contacts.xml /user:<sip URL>
    You can find the tool in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\Support directory
