Lync client 4.0.7577.280 - Roaming Profile / LSASS crashes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ran into a weird issue today whereby shortly after installing Lync client 4.0.7577.280, some, not all users with roaming profiles are generating LSASS errors and the computer reboots!  Uninstalling the client resolves the issue and so does changing the user to a local profile.  My question is, what could Lync be storing or trying to access in the user's profile that is causing this issue?  The minidump is not helpful at all but here is a sample LSASS error we get;

  • See

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2691043

    The issue occurs when Lync or OCS tries to load certificates from roaming profiles.

    Regards,

    Daniel

  • Thanks for the link Daniel, I ran into the exact same issue (see error message below) with the Lync 2013 client (updated to the latest available version at this time, the update from September 2013) on Win 7 SP1 and this hotfix did the trick.

    Regards,

    Thibault
