    Is that for all internal and external users in organization ? when did the issue started happening is there any recent change on the topology or server updates or certificate change ? provide more details about the issue to help you better. meanwhile you can refer following links

    Would you please tell us if the issue only appeared on the specific Lync client ?

    If so, please try to delete Lync cache files

    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\sip_UserName@Domain.com

    Please try to run the command update-CsAddressBook in the Lync management shell of FE to update address book, make sure the CMS has the latest update.

    If the issue persists, you can set the Lync client policy parameter "AddressBookAvailability" to the value of WebSearchOnly, then Lync client will search the address book from BE database directly.
