Skype for Business Status is reset to Available after I have explicitly set it to Busy

Question
-
Hi,
I assume due to the "Update my presence based on my calendar information" setting, the Skype for Business client is resetting my availability to Available periodically (such as after a phone call).
It is true that my calendar does not have anything booked at this time, however it may not be true that I am available! If I have explicitly set the status to Busy then I would like it to remain that way after I hang up from a phone call.
I would prefer not to disable the check box, because it is valuable to set the status to match the calendar when I am in a meeting.
I would like the Skype for Business client to honour a manually set status above the calendar information in cases where the calendar is marked as free.
Is there any way to make this happen? Or am I missing something? Is it just the way it works?
Thanks,
Simon.Wednesday, August 9, 2017 3:04 AM

Confirmed - the Plantronics Hub software has a setting called "Aware for Microsoft", which causes the problem. It is designed for setting status to Busy when you are on the phone, but it doesn't revert correctly and instead sets the status to Available after every call.
Set to "Off" to resolve!
Thanks for assistance Leon.

Hi Simon,
To further troubleshoot the issue, can you please confirm the following information?
1. You set SFB to Busy manually, calendar have nothing booked at this time, after the call ,the status is resetting to Available immediately.
2. How often does SFB client reset the status every day? As far as I know, when you set Lync to Busy manually, it will revert back to your Outlook Calendar status in 24 hours, if you do not change it before then.
3. If you set your account in another computer, does the issue persist?
4. Do other users in your organization have the same problem?
Based on my test, if I manually set the presence to be Busy, the status will not reset to Available after a call.
The client version SFB 2016 MSO(16.0.4266.1001)
The Server version (6.0.9319.0)

Many thanks for response Leon.
Based on your response I spent a bit more time troubleshooting and I can confirm it does indeed normally behave the way we want. After checking installed software it appears the fault is introduced by Plantronics Hub software on my machine, which has a Lync integration. I am running the current version of that software, so have logged a support call with Plantronics to follow up.

I am having this same problem. I don't see how turning this option is the solution. This is a bug in the Plantronics software. If I turn this option off, I lose several other features that actually work, like having it show busy when I am on a cell phone call that is paired with Bluetooth.
This didn't always behave this way. The way it is now, I'll set busy and the phone will ring and it will change it to available. I don't even touch the computer or headset. It what world does this make sense?
