Lync and Outlook 2013 Partial Sync RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am currently using Office 2013 and Lync 2013 at work.

Lync and Outlook seem to be partially synced up.

Within Outlook, the Lync status appears within the inbox while looking at a message (at the top and bottom of the email in the preview pane)

However, when I create a new email to send and enter the recipient(s), the Lync status doesn't show.

Oddly...it does show a gap in front of the name where the status would be but it is blank

Also (though not pictured here), at the bottom of the new email where it also displays the contact...it does show the status.

  • Sometimes, I have the same issue. As I can see on my Outlook this will happened if I have more the one source of the contact with different mail address.

As soon I clear this entries the presence is correct.

  • Hi BoondockSaintz,

You can try to re-associate Outlook with Lync.

The default value is “Lync”, delete or add “Lync” and restart outlook.

If the issue still persists, please try to recreate Outlook profile and delete Lync cache file.

In addition, reinstall the Office 2013 program might be the simplest method.

    Best regards,

    Eric

  • You need to add the new user on your lync client. ANd also ask user to Login to his/her lync account using lync client.

Once you able to view the user lync status on your Lync Client you can also get the update reflected on Outlook as well.
