SFB client was crashed from P2P call to conference call RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We develop one Kiosk PC run custom application with Lync Client 2013 SDK,and our Kiosk system encounter SFB crashed when transfer P2P call to conference call. Here is test environment and steps:

Kiosk PC: Windows 10(ver:1607, build:14393.1884) + SFB ver:16.0.8625.2121 (64 bits) + Lync Client 2013 SDK (run UI suppression mode) + our developed UI application.

    PC1: Windows 10(ver:1703, build:15063.674) + SFB ver:16.0.8625.2121 (32 bits)

    PC2: Windows 10(ver:1703, build:15063.726) + SFB ver:16.0.8625.2121 (64 bits)

step1: make P2P call between Kiosk PC and PC1.

step2: PC1 add PC2 into call (thus this call will transfer from P2P call to conference call)

step3: sometimes SFB client will be crashed in Kiosk PC.

    Here is Windows event log:

  • Hi Joey,

How is the performance of the computer ? Also check your client log in snooper and from Skype server with CLSlogging if you can see something strange.

    Greetings,

    Erdem

  • Hi Erdem,

    Thanks for your reply.

    Answer your question here:

    1. The Kiosk PC hardware info: CPU: i5-6500, RAM: 8G。

    2. Our SFB account are registered by Microsoft Office 365. Can we check log from server?

  • Hi Joey0329,

When you have P2P call , Will this problem happen every time?

The issue may caused by the driver, you could try to rollback to the default driver or update your driver to the latest version

You could perform a clean boot(This helps eliminate software conflicts) and make a test.

Your O365 update chanel is Monthly channel, please change other update channel and make a test.

  • Hi Leon,

    Thanks for your reply.

We already run these following steps, but lync.exe is still crashed.

    1. Update Skype For Business to the latest version. (16.0.8625.2127)

    2. Run Windows Update to latest version.

    3. Install driver to latest version that download from official website.

    4. Perform the clean boot.

Update: If the P2P call is transferring to conference call, in Lync client SDK, it will receive OnHold event first. Then receive another one conversation that contain conference call information in normal case. But in crash case, lync.exe will be crashed before receive OnHold event.

    Regards,

    Joey

  • Hi Joey0329,

When P2P call, will Skype for business client crash On the PC1 and PC2 ?

Please only run SFB client on the Kiosk PC,not run sfb client and Lync client 2013 SDK Simultaneously,to remove the Lync client 2013 SDK conflict.

If you only run SFB client on the kiosk PC normally, the problem may caused by the Lync client 2013 SDK,you could open a thread on the skype for buseinss SDK forum.

  • Hi Leon,

If only run SFB client on Kiosk PC and do this test, SFB client don't crash.

But the reason I post this bug on this forum is that "lync.exe" make the crash.

    Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

    Regards,

    Joey
