I've tried using the regular SMTP server and that doesn't work either.  The problem occurred suddenly for no apparent reason. There's no problem writing with the g-mail server. There;s also no problem with the input server.  I'm operating with Windows 10. I;v used a simple message: "This is a test" for testing purposes sent to an msn.com e-mail address which is valid

  • Hi,

    Thanks for contacting our forum.

Does this issue affect all the message of this user? And if the message with specific type of attachments and size?

    Given the error message below:

STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Cannot submit message

We can see that the remote returned Send As Denied Exception. So the user cannot submit a message with that server. This could because if the Clutter feature is enabled for the user but the Clutter folder is missing in the user’s mailbox.

    Please following the steps below:

    Action1: Use Exchange Online PowerShell

    • Connect to Exchange Online by using PowerShell.
    • Run the following command:Get-Mailbox user@contoso.com | Set-Clutter -Enable $false

Action2: Use Outlook on the web

    • In Outlook on the web, click Settings (Gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
    • Click My app settings, click Mail, and then click Clutter.
    • Clear the Separate items identified as clutter check box, and then click Save.

  • This applies to all email clients using smtp-mail.outlook.com to send email.  Sometime near the beginning of July, there was a change that disallowed you using a return email address that is not in your list of verified email aliases or connected accounts. In other words, you can't change the "From" field in emails you send to an anonymous email address.
