lync 2010 startup 'preparing to install' on startup

    Question

  • We have preinstalled Lync 2010 on our Win7 build, but have removed the registry setting to run on startup. On booting into windows when the user clicks the lync icon it comes up with the 'Preparing to install....' box as if its the first tinme this user has used it. It does this every time user boots into windows. any ideas how to fix this ?

    Joe.

    Thanks - Joe.

  • Why do you removed the registry settings. If you remove the blobal registry settings, this will happened, because the user has not the permission to set this registry entries.

  • We've added it to the build but have not gone live with lync yet so didn't want ti on startup. This will stop it from hanging when user shuts down.  dont suppose its a biggie. I assume restoring the regsitry will fix it.
