Cannot sign in to Skype Room System v2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Let me briefly describe our case. Our company have purchased a set of Logitech rally plus system to allow my company to have a video conferencing system. Moreover, my company have also bought an intel NUC and this comp have already run the SRS(Skype room system) script.

However, we encounter a problem for login the S4B(Skype for Business) account using the SRS(Skype Room System). It keeps giving error showing that we cannot login due to connection problem or version is incompatible with our S4B server (generally speaking cannot communicate with our sfb server).

The version for the SRS is 4.2.4.0

The version for our S4B server is as following:

    Skype for Business server 2015 (e3)  -- CU9

Details for Account for login SRS system:

    Login name: testmeeting1@domain.com

    Password: X@123456

    Domain/username: domain\testmeeting1

    Domain: domain.com

    Exchange address: testmeeting1@domain.com

Actually, we have already done some checking to find where it goes wrong. Here is the details that what we have tried:

    1.      The mini-comp (intel NUC) has joined our domain (domain.com)

    2.      We have installed a sfb client version on the administrator account. We can successfully login to testmeeting1@domain.comand function normally (can voice chat, can private message to everyone).

    3.      We have inserted an extra certificate(domain-ca) for the intel NUC. However, when we login back to the SRS system (the SKYPE account) it appears the same error as above.

    4.      We have used Wireshark to see packet movement. It seems that the intel NUC has already successfully sent out the login information to the server. (No sign for facing an error and keep trying to send out same packet)

    5.       We have found an error log.

Please base on the situation, help us figure out how to solve this problem. Thanks

  • Hi Ben,

Your post mentioned your privacy, so I have covered them.

Does this issue persist all the time? Or do you do any operations before this issue appearing?

In my research, you can try to solve the issue as follows:

1.Depending on whether the environment is purely on-premise, or in the cloud, or a hybrid mix of on-premise and cloud, the steps on creating these accounts can differ slightly.

2.Please check your certificate again to ensure  by referring this document.

3.Check your DNS domains suffix because Skype for Business FE Pool is different from the SIP domain suffix.

For more details, please refer to article.

Moreover, you could use the Lync Connectivity Analyzer to validate credentials and connectivity.

  • Hi Jimmy,

According to your solution, we have already used the way mentioned in the document.

We have opened the room account by powershell command.

We have issued a new root ca for the computer. Moreover, we can login by client version. Therefore, it proves that the certification should not be the problem.

We have used the Lync Connectivity Analyzer that you have mentioned. It shows failed however this is due to it don't have the SSL (root ca). It already showed that it can find lfmeet.domain.com (our edge server) by its dns and lyncdiscover.

Is there anything that we have mis-config or anythings we need to setup in exchange or sfb server to allow Skype Room System to login to our sfb server. Thanks

P.S We have used wireshark to trace our packet. It shows that it already have launch communication with our Front End Server (10.2.2.41), the FE server also replied the computer. However, the Skype Room System still shows the same error that the version is incompatible.

  • Hi Ben_lai1101!

From your description, we infer that you may have problems during the deployment of SRS. So we recommend you check if your deployment of SRS V2 is correct. For more details about SRS v2 deployment, please refer to the following link

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/plan-your-deployment/plan-your-deployment

Besides, Check if your Logitech rally plus system driver is working properly and version is updated.

Due to our limited knowledge of the Logitech rally plus system, if the above does not solve your problem, we recommend contacting the technical support of the Logitech rally plus system.

    Best Regards,
    Jimmy Yang
