Lync 2010 On-Premise with O365 UM Performance Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have an on-going issue where we have integrated on-premise Lync 2010 with Office 365 Unified Messaging for Voicemail. The setup is all working but we are having fundamental call quality issues resulting in poor call quality as follows:

A phone call to voicemail had intermittent call quality issues - audio dropout on incoming and the voice assistant responding to commands when nothing was spoken.

The "Poor network conditions are causing audio quality issues." message was displayed frequently.

The internet connection is a 100Mbps Leased Line and the network is terminated by a SonicWALL Appliance.

    Regards,

    Alastair

  • Hi Alastair,

Did you deploy the monitoring server?if so ,you could open the monitoring report ,check the network quality.

Poor network quality can affect the audio quality of your calls. Check the following to improve network quality:

1.We recommend that you do not make calls over a wireless internet connection, virtual private network (VPN), or remote access service (RAS) connections.

2.If bandwidth is a problem, limit other computer activities while in a call.

3.If you can, stop unnecessary audio or video.

4.Check whether other computers on the network are using a lot of resources or performing heavy downloads or uploads, and see if they can be delayed or halted.

There is link about the how to identify the source of the poor call quality issue, you could refer to it.
