Frustrated with Hyper-V, RemoteFx GPU RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a new server:

       Dell T320
       Xeon Processor
       16GB Memory
       1TB HD space
       Matrox G200eR Video
       Server 2012 Standard
       Connected to local domain
       Blah, Blah, Blah

I have installed Hyper-V and all the other necessary parts to create and publish a couple of virtual desktops for the company owner to work from home or from out of town.

I have a Windows 7 SP1 virtual machine setup on Hyper-V but I can't get the collection to complete successfully because the system says there is no RemoteFx GPU video.

I have the current Matrox driver and it support WDDM 1.2 and DirectX 11.

However, in the Hyper-V settings, there is no Physical GPU available even though my machine setup is correct and meets all the criteria for Hyper-V.

    QUESTION IS THIS:

What is it I am missing here for the Physical GPU to be recognized?  This is only for two VD's.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

To add to the information that Don posted, the Windows Server Catalog does not currently have compatibility information for Server 2012 RemoteFX.  Some of the cards listed are not compatible with Server 2012 RemoteFX, even though they show as Windows Server 2012 Certified.
