Outlook 2010 won't pass through MAPI correctly unless user is a local admin RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have an issue with users trying to send email from our accounts package (IRIS Exchequer) via MAPI.  It is Outlook 2010 (32 bit) running in a VMWare view environment.  If the user is a local administrator it creates and sends the email fine and silently but obviously our users are not local admins.  Without being local admin Outlook asks for permission, then pops up a new email form with the attachment and subject filled in but not the to field and the program throws an error.

I've spoken to IRIS who assure me there is nothing on their end so it must be environmental but I am stumped.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

The problem occurs when you create a new email or when you press "Send" button?

    What is in attachment?

If you can provide some snapshot we can do some further analysis.
