set static conference ID with Lync RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to configure Lync like my current OCS where users have static conference ID's.

    CsMeetingConfiguration

    Identity                        : Global
    PstnCallersBypassLobby         : True
    EnableAssignedConferenceType     : True
    DesignateAsPresenter         : Company
    AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault : True
    AdmitAnonymousUsersByDefault     : True

    Any thoughts?

    Rick

  • Looks like your settings are correct for this.  The AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault=true parameter means that the default for meeting URLs will be public meetings (or static conference IDs) and the EnableAssignedConferenceType=true parameter means that users are allowed to schedule public (or status conference ID) meetings.  Users can easily make them a private meeting (random conference ID) by selecting the "Customize..." checkbox in the meeting options.

Users can see what their static conference ID is by logging into the Simple URL assigned to the Dial-in web page.

  • AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault
Determines whether new meetings will be configured, by default, as public meetings. Set this value to True to use public meetings by default; set this value to False to use private meetings by default. The default value is True.

    EnableAssignedConferenceType
Indicates whether users are allowed to schedule public meetings. With a public meeting, the conference ID and the meeting link remain consistent each time the meeting is held. With a private meeting, the conference ID and meeting link change from meeting to meeting.
