Lync 2010 with Linux machines

    Question

  • how can we use Lync 2010 in Linux machines..? do we have any third party applications which can support Voice and Video.?

  • There is no MS client for Linux.

  • We tried this, but only issue is Address Book search is not working.  any idea how we can do the address book integration with Pidgin..?

  • For Linux machines your only real option is the Lync Web App (which is only meeting join, no IM/Presence, Conferencing or Voice).

    I haven't tested it, but you might be able to use it with Moonlight.

  • Hi,

    There is no Lync client developed specially for Linux system. Other third party client tool has not full feature of lync client. But you can try justin's suggestion, use lync web app to join the lync meeting.

  • yea sadly with the switch to silverlight they killed unix connectivity (moonlight doesnt seem to work for lync reliably).  The only thing I am aware of is the old ocs 2007r2 CWA server.

    Actually its not supported on Linux. :( . However, there is a very rich list of OS/browsers combinations where it is supported. The link below very nicely covers the same.
