Presence cannot be updated on local client but is visible fort other people RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I've a strange behavior :

some Skype for business clients cannot update their presence, they can click on it , choose one , but it is not displayed , the old one is still there. other people can view the user has change his presence.

This seems to be linked to some people because if they connect in SFB on a pc where another user had no issue, they have the issue .

    What can cause this?

    Rgds

  • Hi Butor,

Are the users in internal network or external?

Do you use Skype for Business on-premise or Online?

According your description, I suggest that you could first try to clean the user cache

    “%useprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\1x.0\Lync\sip_xxx”

Re-login the client to see the result.

Also please try to reset the status: Open client > check the presence > Reset status.

Normally, Skype for Business client will publish the presence to server. If using on-premise server, please check the event log on FE server to see if there is any error.
