Lync 2010 cannot synchronize with the corporate address book

  • Lync 2010 cannot synchronize with the corporate address book

    W7 x86 Office 2010 IE9 with Lync 4.0.7577.314.

    Can IE have anything to do with Sync issue with  adressbook?

  • Other PCs on your corporate network, can they synchronize.

    can you check if you have Galcontacts.db on this location C:\Users\%username%AppData\Local\Microsoft\Communicator

    if this file exists then delete it and galcontacts.db.idx  as well

  • Yes. The addressbook wil be downloaded from the addressbook webservice from the Lync Server. So if your proxy settings are incorrect, the addressbook will not e downloaded.

    I will check this. On same it works and some not but we dont have a uniformity client platform.I will come back with result.

  • If you hold down control and right click on the Lync sys tray icon you should see configuration information. Within there are your EWS internal and External URLs set??

    You can try to delete the Galcontacts.db and galcontacts.db.idx file first, then check if it can fix the issue.

  • First, see if you can browse to one of your lync servers from the PC - you should be asked for credentials. Example URL:

    https://frontedgeserver.domain.com/abs/handler

    • If you get nothing - or an IIS error, on the Lync server, try opening the same URL
    • Open IIS on the Lync server, ensure App Pools are running
    • In IIS, also ensure the appropriate web sites are running
    • Check eventlog for errors/cert issues etc

    This should give you some direction of where to look next.
