Exporting a specific GPO to another domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Been looking around AGPM and LGPO, but can't seem to get this to work. Am I doing it wrong?

Essentially, I want to export this GPO:

...from one domain, and add it to another domain.

LGPO seems to want to do the entire local policy, and I don't have AGPM on the second domain due to licensing issues. Any ideas how to get round this?

  • Hi,
    Thanks for your question.
The following are the steps to immigrate gpo to another domain.
    1. Export GPOs from the source domain
    2. Copy export files to the destination domain
    3. Create and tweak the migration table
    4. Manually recreate WMI filters in destination
    5. Remove GPOs of the same name in the destination
    6. Import GPOs to the destination domain
    7. Manually reassign WMI filters
    8. Copy permissions (and sync SYSVOL permissions)
    Link GPOs to OUs
    9. Set link properties (enabled, enforced, etc.)

Also, you can try to use PowerShell to help you immigrate gpo to another domain.
