  • Hi,

Please kindly note if you don’t put credential of Office365 Admin then you may see the error. Before moving user must put credential of Office365 Admin and then run move command.

    For example:

    $creds=Get-Credential

    Move-CsUser -Identity username@contoso.com -Target sipfed.online.lync.com -Credential $creds

Here you could find more details regarding moving users from on premises to SFB online.

Also please check and make sure the user have cloud license assigned before moving that user to cloud, then it will end up with the error.

    Kind regards,

    Calvin Liu

  • I am running this command with a O365 Global Admin Account. This is same account being used for setting up the below parameters in Skype Online.

    Set-CSTenantFederationConfiguration -SharedSipAddressSpace $True

  • Hi,

Did it occur to specific user or all users?

Based on my research, before moving the user to Online, you need to confirm the user accounts have been synchronized to the cloud already, and assign them a license. Please check it in O365 admin center.

After that, please try to move the users from on premise to online under “Users” channel in SFB control panel to have a test.

    Kind regards,

    Calvin Liu

  • Hi Calvin,

I tried for other users and same for all.

All these users already having mailboxes in O365 with appropriate E1 or E3 licenses. We are syncing identity with latest AD Connect server to O365 using password writeback and hashes.

I have lync 2013 environment and no option to move users in lync control panel.

  • Hi Calvin,

I have already done the Step 1 and 2 as edge configuration and skype online setup. I am not sure how to do step 3 if I have a lync 2013 environment because in the article, it is skype 2015 web console and not lync 2013.

  • Hi,

Please kindly note that the operating mechanism of Lync 2013 is similar with SFB server 2015. You could refer to that article when you deploying the hybrid.

The "fedration configuration" in Step 3 of the above article is performed in SFB control panel.

And here is a similar case that regarding migrating from Lync 2013 to SFB online could be as your reference:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fe56168e-2aee-47f9-81ac-7a307db950ad/migration-from-lync-2013-to-skype-for-business-online?forum=sfbfr

Another official article about the hybrid: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/skype-for-business-hybrid-solutions/deploy-hybrid-connectivity/deploy-hybrid-connectivity

Please let us know if you need further help.

    Kind regards,

    Calvin Liu
