How is your Skype client working on Windows 10? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I have Office 365 Click-2-Run client (16.0.10730.20264) with semi-annual update on Win10 (1809, build 17763.437).

    Issue 1:

When I share the Command Prompt or PowerShell that is working fine, until I move something over it. If I move e.g. office product over the command prompt, participants can see that part which covers the command prompt window.

    Issue 2:

When I share what ever window, and then move something over it, participants can see black square on that area what other window is overlapping it.

Both of these are bad, but the first one is worst as that means data leaking :(

Earlier when run similar tests I could not see the same behaviour on Windows 7, so this must be Win10 related issue.

  • Hi Petri X,

About your issues, I did some testing in my lab.

Tested with Win10 (1809.17763.134) with Office C2R (16.0.11328.20230) and Office MSI (16.0.4822.1000),  get same result as you said. It would show the content of the overlapping window.

Tested with Win10 (1709.16299.19) with Office C2R (16.0.11328.20230) and Office MSI (16.0.4822.1000), and the overlapping window would show as a black rectangle.

Normally, when you share a program, windows overlapping it would display as black rectangles, it is by default.

As you said, it seems something incorrect in Windows 1809, for now I didn’t find anything useful about this, I would do more research about this. If there is any update, I will post back.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!

    Best Regards,
    Shaw Lu

  • Hi Shaw,

Did you noticed what you replied to me? :D :D

And that was what I had also on my mind, have you found anything?
