  • Hi Omer AYDOGAN,

    Thanks for your post.

I searched on Microsoft articles and noticed that there is only a hotfix for support LTO-6 tapes on Windows Server 2008R:

A hotfix is available that provides an updated Tape.inf file in Windows Server 2008 and in Windows Server 2008 R2

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2619836

There's only hotfix for Windows 2012 with LTO 7 tape drive

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3095711

    Best Regards,

    Mary Dong

  • Please check with vendor for the support and drivers. It is the vendors who should provide drivers for their hardware.

  • Hi Umesh,

Thank you for answering me. IBM only supported Windows 2012 for now. I want to know Microsoft has released any hotfix for Windows 2008 R2 with LTO 7 tape drive ?

    Best regards.

  • I have the same question. My backup software vendors doesn't get along well with Vendor supplied drivers and recommends Microsoft drivers.
