Hi,
Yes it does, via the Monitoring Server. It will measure those metrics on all Lync functionality (voice calls, video calls, desktop sharing sessions, AV conferences etc).

Hi there,
The Media Quality Diagnostic Reports provide information about call quality, and diagnostic and troubleshooting information for failed calls.
The Media Quality Summary Report provides overall quality data for different endpoint types, including Enterprise Voice peer-to-peer calls, Enterprise Voice conference calls, and calls that rely, at least in part, on the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
The Service Performance Report lists the servers that have experienced the most problems, based on measurements of such key quality metrics as degradation, packet loss, and jitter.
The Location Report provides a list of network locations and a summary of the media quality of the calls that occur at each location. For purposes of this report, locations are based on IP subnets.
The Device Report provides a summary of devices that are used for Enterprise Voice calls and it includes the average media quality of the calls by device.
The Call List Report provides detailed information about phone calls made or received within your organization.
The Call Detail Report provides detailed information about phone calls made from or received within your organization.

Tom,
Thank you for your response. Would you happen to know if the performance metrics that are captured include Application Sharing/Desktop Sharing sessions?
Thanks!Wednesday, January 4, 2012 3:02 AM -
Hi Justin,
I was looking specifically for Application Sharing or Desktop Sharing. Are you certain that Lync captures those metrics for App. Sharing/Desktop Sharing?
Thanks!Wednesday, January 4, 2012 3:04 AM -
Hi Noya,
Thank you for your response to this. It's a fairly critical question to my organizations Lync initiatives.
I'm interested in the Service Performance Reports, I understand that the performance reports provide detail around degradation, packet loss, jitter for Voice/Video calls, what about Application Sharing? Does it list metrics for Application sharing?
Thanks a million!

Yes, application sharing is a metric that is captured in the Monitoring Server reports - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg615041.aspx

Lync monitor network metrics like delay/jitter/packet loss for AV Conferencing capabilities is captured in Monitoring Store and you could find them by Monitoring Reportorting.
For the Application sharing metrics, Lync would capture the information such as caller and callee information, in the Monitoring Reporting, you could find metrics such as total number of application sharing session.
Right now, Lync doesn't capture monitor network metrics like delay/jitter/packet loss for Application sharing and desktop sharing activity. The capturing for those new metrics would be included in the new coming Lync release.
