  • Question

  • Does Office Lync 2010 count as a Standard CAL? Or do you need to still get a CAL for each Office Lync 2010 user?

Answers

  • Customers who purchase Office Professional Plus 2010 after December 1, 2010 will have an Office suite that includes Lync 2010 instead of Office Communicator 2007 R2. Customers with active Software Assurance coverage for Office Professional Plus 2010 after December 1, 2010 can use either Office Communicator 2007 R2 or upgrade to Lync 2010. You don’t need to purchase the CAL separately.

But you need to buy the Lync server license separately.

  • Office Professional Plus 2010 contains only STANDART Lync licence. So if you need any Enterprise or Plus feature you should buy this licences separately.
