How to block a PSTN number reaching Lync end points RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to block a PSTN number reaching Lync end points.

We are using AudioCodes gateway and Lync Enterprise Voice. We do not have an SBC yet.

Issue: A user gets calls repeatedly from a PSTN number to his Lync Extension.

We need to block the calls originating from this particular number for this user. Any way to solve this ?

  • Hi,

From my understanding there is no Pre-defined settings in control panel or Lync client.

But there are third party tools available. Or you can refer the below link to block from server end.

No options from client to block the particular number,

  • Hello Murali,

Thank you for your reply.  I tried couple of thinks on the gateway but couldn't block it.

My colleague (Will Talbot)  found a way to  block the calls from a number reaching a Lync Extension by using the Manipulations rules in the  PSTN Gateway.

You can find the details in the following hyperlink.

  • Actually the best way to do this would be to create a new route in your Tel-to-IP table. Put in the spam caller as the source, and route the destination to an IP address of "internal". The "internal" name is a keyword in AudioCodes to route it to itself basically. First test this with your cell phone to ensure you have the source number formatting correct, then swap in the spammers number once you've confirmed its working. You will want to move the route to the top of your route table.
