Retire Monitoring Server

    Question

  • Hi I have inherited a 2010 Lync setup with 2 edge servers, DB server and 2 front end servers. It also has one monitoring server that I don't think we have every used. No one has ever checked reports or anything. Can I remove the monitoring server without affecting the normal Lync functions of IM, desktop sharing or conference calls?

If I can is it just a matter of unassociating the monitoring server in the Topology builder or is there more to it?

    Any help is appreciated..thanks

  • Hi,

Yes, to remove Monitoring server in SFB, you will need to change or clear the dependency on the associated Front End pool.

Please find here for more detailed procedures.
