Skype Meeting Conference ID's RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi support,

we noticed that the conference ID"s were the same when meetings occur.  For every new meeting created by any user it's gets assigned the same conference ID.

Is that normal ? and how can this be changed ?

    Thank you

Answers

  • That's the default and it's called dedicated meeting space.

Run the following PowerShell to change this to use a new conference ID for each meeting:

    Get-CsMeetingConfiguration | Set-CsMeetingConfiguration -AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault $false

  • Hi Majdi,

As Anthony wrote, you can change this with PowerShell for all users.

Each user can also change this through the meeting options on the Outlook invite

  • Hi Majdi,

    Agree with others,

    Set-CsMeetingConfiguration -AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault $false -EnableAssignedConferenceType $true

The AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault=false parameter means that the users use private meetings by default. EnableAssignedConferenceType=true parameter means that users are allowed to schedule public (or static conference ID) meetings.  The users can make them a private meeting (random conference ID) by selecting the “Customize access and presenters for this meeting” checkbox in the meeting options.
