How can I remove old OCS 2007 R2 servers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • When using the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Admin tools, I see instances of servers we no longer use:

    [Office Communications Server 2007 R2]
    -->[Forest - Domain.Suffix]
    -->--> [Standard Edition Servers]
    -->-->-->[Old-OCS-Server1]
    -->-->-->[Old-OCS-Server2]
    -->-->-->[Old-OCS-Server3]

    Since the servers no longer exist, I can't right click them and select "remove pool" because it's greyed out. How do I remove them?

  • Thanks hbunkradt! That lead me down the right path. I found this "https://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/schertz_jeff/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=13" which shows that the pools are stored in "CN=Pools,CN=RTC Service,CN=Microsoft,CN=System,DC=Domain,DC=Suffix"

  • Hi,

    before you remove the servers you have to deactivate the servers with the admin tool and them remove the server with the admin tool.

    Now you have to use adsiedit carefully to remove the entry from the ad configuration partition.
