Changing the default "Days to Sync" options for accessing Office 365 from mobile devices.


  • Is there anyway to change the available "Days to Sync" options for an Office 365 email account for mobile phone email?  When I setup an Exchange or Corporate email account for one of my employee's smart phones (iOS or Android), I am only provided the options of syncing email for:

    • Automatic
    • One day
    • Three days
    • One Week

    On some Android phones, a message tells me that these settings are dictated by the email server.  I'd like to increase the time to two weeks or a month. I'm an administrator on our Office 365 Exchange account, and I cannot seem to find a setting to override these lengths.

    Has anyone else seen this?

  • My experience is that this setting can only managed from the individual devices when using ActiveSync for data synchronization.  3rd party vendors may have more support for pushing down preferred settings.
