HTC Desire Active Sync Issues with Exchange online

    Question

  • hi folks

i am using my htc desire with exchange active sync, calendar, contacts and mail are pushing down fine. however today i tried to send an email from the desire using my exchange account and i get the error " unable to send email" in the notification area on the phone, and the mail sits in the outbox and goes no where.

i have also a hotmail account on the desire too, and i can send email from that without issues.

i did a google search and found others with the same problem, but couldnt find a fix, tried it over wifi also same problem..

could it be a problem on microsofts end as im using hosted exchange?

any ideas on what the problem is? and how i might resolve,?

  • Hello JohnL_ie,

Can I have you try logging into OWA https://mail.microsoftonline.com as your e-mail alias that you are also configuring your phone with and clicking on Options -> Mobile Devices -> Verify the Device is there last sync and status.  Also try removing the device from the list and at the same time delete the active sync profile on the mobile device.  Recreating a profile and re-establishing the partnership.

    Thanks,
    Ben

  • Hi JohnL_ie,

I'm trying to sync my HTC Desire with Exchange Online too, but I couldn't work out the settings to get properly connected. May I ask you to publish your Active Sync settings?

    Thanks,

  • Hi all,

I found out myself with trial & error. Maybe this could be useful for anyone:

E-Mail-address: [your email-address, same as used for logging in to OWA] my@email.com

Server address: red002.mail.emea.microsoftonline.com [or one of the other regional servers, without the "https://" prefix!]

    Domain: [leave blank]

    Username:  my@email.com[same as email address]

    Password: [guess what]

  • Hi,

I also have the issue that I'm not able to send Mails via the Android 2.2 Exchange Client (HTC Desire HD) with our company Exchange 2010...
After reading your guide I used our OWA to delet all my previous device bindings and also the active one to the Desire HD.
After removing and re-applying the Exchange Account on the Mobile the problem still persists.

So I enabled the Exchange logging feature in OWA, sent a test email and got following output from the Exchange Mobile Logging:

As you can see there is a Command_WorkerThread_Exception Error logged.
    What does this indicate?

    Thanks in advance for help!
