Send As access on shared mailbox not working on Outlook. RRS feed

  • Hi ,

    i have a scenario where user has been given full access and send as rights on a shared mailbox. send as is working through OWA but its throwing error when trying that through Outlook from PC. below is the error message : Error is [0x80070005-0x000004dc-0x00000524] which occurs when user doesn't have send as access.

    From: System Administrator
    Sent: 21 June 2019 03:28
    Subject: Undeliverable: test mail 3

     Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

           Subject:     test mail 3

          Sent:  21-06-2019 03:28

     The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

           User01 on 21-06-2019 03:28

                This message could not be sent. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user.

     Diagnostic information for administrators:

    __________________________________________________

     Error is [0x80070005-0x000004dc-0x00000524].

    can you guys please have look at this and suggest a solution.

  • Hi Rahul,

    Issue may related to the incorrect autocomplete cache, then we could get it fixed by recreating the Outlook profile.

    If it doesn't work, please try to add the send as permission via command and see if it gives any different result. We need to connect to Exchange online Powershell and then run the following command:

    Add-RecipientPermission "<shared mailbox>" -AccessRights SendAs -Trustee "<user>"

    In addition, please read the article linked below, it summarizes all the possible solutions for this issue:
