    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

  • After run sfc /scannow, the result as:

    C:\Users\Administrator>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

After run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, the result as:

    C:\Users\Administrator>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.17763.771

    Image Version: 10.0.17763.832

[==========================100.0%==========================] The restore operation completed successfully.
    The operation completed successfully.

    Any suggestion?

  • You can go down that debugging rabbit hole if you like but be sure to set aside plenty of time for it. My recommendation is to stand up a new one, patch fully, migrate roles or applications over to it and move on.

  • Hi WinPatch,

I noticed Udara provide a similar thread to you. In that thread, the issue was resolved by the following action.

    1. Go to services > cryptographic services > properties >logon (identity)
    2. give the identity account (usually 'network service') full permission on the C: drive.

Please check if it works on your side and feedback the result to us.

    Bests,

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later.

  • 0x8000FFFF = Catastrophic failure. My recommendation is to stand up a new one, patch fully, migrate roles or applications over to it and move on.

  • Hi,

Try to update all driver to the latest through device manufacturer website.

Then disable antivirus software temporarily and boot into Clean Boot environment to update again.

If the issue persists, we would recommend to repair catalog database with the following link:

Windows Server 2008: Event ID 257 - System Catalog Database Integrity

Here is a similar thread, please refer the marked answer.
