eDiscovery Export Tool (Standard/E3) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've heard a rumor that its possible to launch, and download, an eDiscovery export without having to be logged in as an authenticated eDiscovery user.   That is, is someone is able to retrieve the export key and the download URL, they could download the eDiscovery export.

Has anyone else heard this?  If yes, can they confirm whether this is true or not?

    Thank you!

  • Yes, traditional Exchange eDiscovery search requires us to log in as an authenticated eDiscovery user to export the result, what you mentioned here is the Office 365 Advanced eDiscovery.

For details, see this document: Export results in Office 365 Advanced eDiscovery.
